Current and retired members of the Amalgamated Transit Union Local #416 participated in the annual 2016 Labor Day Parade & Picnic on Monday, September 5, 2016. The Labor Day Parade, with over 100 entries of various trade unions, began at 10 a.m. and started in front of the Fire Station on Monroe Street and ended at the Peoria County Courthouse. The Labor Day picnic was from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at Riverfront Festival Park.
CityLink was recently asked to participate in the Peoria Area Convention and Visitors Bureau's latest "Tourin' the Town" video for August 2016. This month featured different modes of transportation available in the Peoria area.

Shaun Livingston, son of CityLink employee Reggie Livingston, is enjoying some time off this summer after another fantastic season with the Golden State Warriors. Not only did the Warriors make it to the NBA Finals for a second straight season this year, they also set several NBA season records, including the best start to a season (they went 24-0 to start the season), the best regular-season record of 73-9, and the longest home win streak of 54 games. CityLink Director of Marketing Emily Watson recently went on a “ride along” with one of the operators for CityLift, which is the demand response paratransit service comprised of 48 vehicles, managed by the Greater Peoria Mass Transit District (GPMTD) and operated by MV Transportation.

CityLink 2nd Shift Maintenance Foreman, Jim Harness, was recently featured on the Susan G. Komen Memorial Affiliate Facebook Page (www.facebook.com/komenpeoria) for making a donation to the organization. Upon further investigation, it was discovered that Jim was making the donation on behalf of a gaming group he belongs to called Fans of Gaming. CityLink decided they had to learn more about Fans of Gaming and Jim’s involvement in the group!
On Thursday, June 16, CityLink celebrated the 11th Annual Dump the Pump Day with a social media photo contest. Dump the Pump Day is a national event recognized by the American Public Transportation Association (APTA), and it is celebrated by transit agencies across the United States each year. According to APTA’s May Transit Saving Report, a two-person household can save, on the average, $9,377 a year by downsizing to one car. In 2015, Americans took 10.6 billion trips on public transportation - the third highest in 10 years.
