CityLink Participates in Komen Race for the Cure Live Television Event

CityLink participated in the first ever live television event promoting the 33rd Annual Susan G. Komen Memorial Affiliate Race for the Cure on Friday, May 12, 2018.  The event took place at the Metro Centre where WEEK morning news anchor Gina Morss and meteorologist Nick Jansen broadcast live from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 a.m. to promote the Race, which took place the following morning on May 13.  CityLink was invited to participate because it was providing a free shuttle for Race participants.

CityLink Director of Marketing Emily Watson had the opportunity to promote the shuttle live on air during the broadcast. You can watch the interview on the Facebook Live video on the Komen Facebook page.  While you're there, you can also view the Facebook Live video that Emily participated in with bus operator Patricia Bush that day.

Below are photos from the event.

Thank you for bus operator Patricia Bush for bringing the bus that day!

The Corn Wolves were also on hand to provide some great music to get everyone pumped up for the Race.

Another surprise guest that morning was Ronda Guyton from the Peoria County Sheriff's Office, who brought along Sheriff Brian Asbell.  Guyton, a breast cancer survivor, challenged the Sheriff's office to donate to the Race, and if they met her goal, the Sheriff had to wear a tutu to the Race. Ronda not only met but surpassed her goal, so Sheriff Asbell rocked a PINK tutu the next day!
