GPMTD Receives New Paratransit Vehicles

GPMTD recently received new paratransit (CityLift) vehicles. The vehicles received are Ford E450 Body-on-Chassis with a Champion Challenger body. They were manufactured by Champion in Imlay City, Michigan and brokered by Central States Bus Sales, Inc. in Fenton, MO.

These vehicles have the capacity to accommodate up to 14 passengers and numerous wheelchairs. They have a specially designed roof to increase passenger safety and the latest enhancements in seatbelt and wheelchair securements. The interior also features high-quality spill-resistant vinyl passenger seating and LED lighting.

The contract GPMTD entered into with Central States Bus Sales, Inc. is for the purchase and delivery of up to 26 new paratransit vehicles. There is an option to purchase an additional 14 paratransit vehicles over the next five years.

Below are photos of the new paratransit vehicles from various angles.

The interior seating is made of a spill-resistent vinyl material that will assist in keeping the seats in good condition for years to come. All of the seats besides those located on the front left can be lifted to accommodate wheelchairs.

Several of the new vehicles have been wrapped with new advertising or advertising that was previously on one of the old paratransit vehicles that has been taken out of service to make way for the new vehicles. Below are examples of some of the advertising featured on one of the new vehicles.
