CityLink to Remove Temporary Stop on #4 Knoxville Route on Mar. 6
Monday, February 20, 2017
The temporary bus stop located at Knoxville and Crossing Drive near McDonald’s, Walgreens, Huck’s and the Schnucks in Knoxville Crossing will be removed and no longer available after March 6, 2017.
The temporary stop at Crossing Drive and Knoxville was implemented on September 6, 2016, with the service operating as a partial weekday and full Saturday extension of the #4 Knoxville Route. The extension was part of the weekday and Saturday “Shopper Shuttle” service on the #4 Knoxville Route, which will return to its previous schedule of traveling between Knoxville Square and the Walmart on Allen Road on March 6. Sunday Service has not been available on the route while the temporary stop has been in place, and Sunday Service will continue to not be available on the #4 Knoxville Route on March 6.
“After being implemented nearly 6 months ago, we are no longer able to maintain the temporary stop North of Route 6 on the #4 Knoxville Route. We knew the stop selected would likely be a temporary solution, and unfortunately, we were unable to pinpoint an ideal location for a permanent stop. We are glad we were able to provide bus service to the customers and employees of the businesses in that area of Peoria for the first time, and we will continue to re-evaluate our routes to better serve the citizens of the Greater Peoria Area,” said CityLink General Manager Doug Roelfs.
Updated information on the #4 Knoxville Route will be available in the upcoming CityLink Rider’s Guide and at www.ridecitylink.org/ride-citylink/schedules-routes after March 1. Please call CityLink Customer Service at 309-676-4040 if you have further questions.
