CityLink Offers Free Rides to Veterans on Veterans Day

In honor of Veterans Day, CityLink will offer free rides to veterans on Monday, November 12, 2012.  CityLink has traditionally offered free rides to veterans on the date Veterans Day is observed.  Veterans can notify the bus driver they are a veteran in order to receive a free ride on November 12.

In addition, starting November 13, CityLink will permanently offer half-fares to veterans with a valid identification from the VA Health Care System.

“We are pleased to offer half-fares to local veterans, giving them convenient access to transportation and resources such as those offered at the Bob Michel VA Outpatient Clinic,” said Tom Lucek, CityLink General Manager.  “CityLink appreciates the service veterans have given to our country.”

For information about the VA Health care System identification, interested veterans should contact the eligibility office at the Bob Michel VA Outpatient Clinic at (309) 589-6800.

The Greater Peoria Mass Transit District Board of Trustees approved the half-fares for veterans at their regular October meeting.
