Andrew Dwyer Elected to the Illinois Public Transportation Association Board of Directors

CityLink Director of Mobility, Andrew Dwyer, was recently elected to the Illinois Public Transportation Association (IPTA) Board of Directors.  Dwyer has been with CityLink for nearly two years, and he has been involved with IPTA for approximately 10 years.
“I chose to run for the IPTA Board of Directors to provide the Peoria area with a voice among transit peers across the state and within an organization that has an impact on the legislation that governs public transportation agencies, such as the Greater Peoria Mass Transit District (GPMTD).  I hope that by serving on the board, I can help improve public transportation not only in the Peoria area, but state-wide,” said Dwyer.

IPTA is a state-wide organization that was established in 2000, when the Illinois Public Transit Association and the Illinois Association for Community Transportation merged. IPTA is dedicated to achieving the best public transportation service possible. They accomplish this through: advocating the value of public transportation; representing the legislative, regulatory and administrative interests of members; and providing a forum for the exchange of information, ideas, and experience.  GPMTD has been a member of IPTA for 17 years.
Dwyer is one of 15 transit professionals currently serving on the IPTA Board of Directors.  His term is four years and it will conclude in 2021.
