Event Part of Annual Stuff-A-Bus Food Drive

(Peoria, IL) -- On Friday, November 20, the second annual Day of Stuffing will be held at the Kroger on W. Lake Ave.  Part of the Stuff-A-Bus food drive, this event is held to encourage donations for the annual campaign that benefits the food pantry at the Peoria Friendship House.

CityLink Offering Complimentary 2016 Peoria Historical Calendar in Exchange for Non-Perishable Food Donation to Stuff-A-Bus on November 18

The public can receive a complimentary 2016 Peoria Historical Calendar in exchange for a non-perishable food donation to the Stuff-A-Bus food drive at the CityLink Transit Center, located at 407 SW Adams Street, on Wednesday, November 18. Representatives from CityLink will be in the Transit Center lobby from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. that day; however, individuals may still receive a calendar in exchange for a donation at the Customer Service windows until the Transit Center lobby closes at 8 p.m.

CityLink Offering Complimentary $3 Day Pass in Exchange For Three Non-Perishable Food Donations to Stuff-A-Bus on November 13

CityLink passengers can receive a complimentary $3 All Day Pass with the donation of three non-perishable food items for the Stuff-A-Bus food drive at the CityLink Transit Center lobby on Friday, November 13 from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. Three or more items are required to receive a complimentary Day Pass. This offer is limited to one Day Pass per customer.
The Day Pass offers unlimited rides for one passenger for one complete service day. The cost is $3 per pass, and transfers are not needed when using the Day Pass....

CityLink to Offer Free Ride Opportunities on November 11

CityLink will offer free rides to veterans on Wednesday, November 11 in honor of Veterans Day.  Passengers are asked to present valid veteran identification or CityLink half-fare ID to the bus operator upon boarding the bus.
Since November 2012, CityLink has offered half-fares to veterans.  CityLink encourages veterans to visit the Special Services office on the second level of the Transit Center to apply for a CityLink half-fare identification card.

CityLink Launches 28th Annual Stuff-A-Bus Food Drive

The 2015 Stuff-A-Bus food drive for Peoria Friendship House of Christian Service officially began on Friday, November 6 at 10 a.m. with a press conference at the Kroger store located at 801 W. Lake Avenue in Peoria.  Representatives from CityLink, Peoria Friendship House and Kroger were on hand to kick off the 28th annual food drive.

CityLink Plans for Potential Delays in Service on October 18 during the Peoria Marathon

On Sunday, October 18 the Peoria Marathon foot race will start at Jefferson and Liberty at 7:00 a.m. until around 1:00 p.m.  This race is a 26 mile foot race and will cover much of the city.
Please be aware there will be times when CityLink buses will experience delays and roads will be closed throughout the city.  There may also be times all buses will not be at the Transit Center at the same time.

CityLink Initiates Program to Bring Bus Benches Into Compliance

CityLink has initiated a program to remove bus stop benches that are not in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act and City of Peoria regulations.
In 2012, the City passed an ordinance that stated bus benches and shelters could not create obstructions to pedestrians or vehicles.  The standards are in compliance with Public Right Of Way Access Guidelines (PROWAG).  To comply with accessibility the bus benches have to be placed on a five foot by eight foot concrete pad and provide a paved accessible route to the sidewalks.  

October Board Meeting Moved to September 28

The regular meeting of the Greater Peoria Mass Transit District Board of Trustees originally scheduled and approved for October 12, 2015, will be held on September 28, 2015 at 5:30 p.m. The meeting will be held at the CityLink Administration Offices at 2105 NE Jefferson St.

No CityLink Bus Service on Labor Day (9/7)

In observance of Labor Day, CityLink and CityLift will not offer service on Monday, September 7.  On Sunday, September 6, the last lineup departs from the Transit Center at 7:30 p.m., and then all buses will return to the garage after reaching the end of the outbound route.  The Transit Center lobby will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  CityLink and CityLift service resumes on September 8.

As part of the process to implement proposed fare and bus pass changes, the Greater Peoria Mass Transit will hold several public hearings;
