CityLink Experienced Increased Ridership in 2014

Topping off a year of many milestones, CityLink provided 3,426,700 rides in 2014, a 2.09% increase over 2013. Since 2011, CityLink’s ridership has been consistently over three million, including a record-breaking year in 2012 which saw 3,454,445 rides or an 8.61% increase over the previous year.

CityLink Expects to Operate During Winter Weather

In spite of a fast-moving winter storm barrelling down on Central Illinois, CityLink, expects to operate Monday evening, January 5 and Tuesday, January 6.   Customers are encouraged to visit CityLink’s website for Service Alerts at www.ridecitylink.org. CityLink Winter Holiday Hours of Operation

CityLink will not offer bus service on Christmas Day, Thursday, December 25, or New Year’s Day, Thursday, January 1.  On Wednesday, December 24 and Wednesday, December 31, the last line up will depart from the Transit Center at 8:45 p.m.  All buses will return to the garage after reaching the end of the outbound route.  The Transit Center hours of operation on those days are 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

CityLink Experiences Record Quarterly Ridership

During the third quarter of 2014, 918,929 rides were taken on CityLink, a record quarter for the Peoria transit system. This is a 4.99 percent increase over the same quarter last year, representing an increase of 43,722 more trips. This is the first time in the history of the Greater Peoria Mass Transit System that passenger ridership for a calendar quarter surpassed 900,000. 
 
In addition, CityLink ridership in October 2014 reached 331,935 the highest ever in a single month.

Trustee Steps Down After 14 Years

27th Annual Stuff-a-Bus Food Drive Wraps Up

The 27th Annual Stuff-a-Bus Food Drive to benefit the Peoria Friendship House of Christian Service Food Pantry officially wrapped up on Monday, December 1.  The campaign began on October 31 and concluded with a press conference at the Peoria Friendship House of Christian Service to announce the total weight of the bus filled with the food collected during the campaign.

CityLink Thanksgiving Holiday Operating Hours

CityLink and CityLift will not offer service on Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, November 27.  The CityLink Transit Center and administrative offices will also be closed.  On Wednesday, November 26, the last CityLink line up will depart from the Transit Center at 8:45 p.m. and then all buses will return to the garage after reaching the end of the outbound route.  The Transit Center hours of operation are 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
