CityLink Announces New Director of Federal Programs and Director of Mobility
Monday, January 4, 2016
CityLink recently announced the addition of two experienced public transportation professionals to its leadership team.
Jill Goforth has joined CityLink in the new position of Director Federal Programs. In this new role, Goforth will be responsible for ensuring CityLink is in compliance with all applicable federal laws, regulations, and policies; preparing quarterly Federal Transit Administration (FTA) grant reports; ensuring grant timelines stay on track; and finding new grant opportunities for CityLink.
Some CityLink riders will be facing new bus fare options in the coming New Year as the area public transit agency reacts to increasing costs and the potential reduction in state financial support. The existing fare structure has remained essentially unchanged for nearly 15 years.
The base fare, which had originally been considered for a 50% increase in September, will not change but some riders who rely on taking more than one bus to their destination may have to pay twice if they do not opt for taking advantage of a new $3 Day Pass.
CityLink will not offer bus service on Christmas Day, Friday, December 25, or New Year’s Day, Friday, January 1. On Thursday, December 24 and Thursday, December 31, the last line up will depart from the Transit Center at 8:45 p.m. All buses will return to the garage after reaching the end of the outbound route. The Transit Center hours of operation on those days are 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
The Transit Center Customer Service and ticket offices will be closed December 25 and January 1, and will resume regular business hours following each holiday. CityLink...
