CityLink Partners with the Peoria Riverfront Museum for the Stuff-A-Bus Food Drive

CityLink and the Peoria Riverfront Museum have teamed up for this year’s Stuff-A-Bus food drive to benefit the Peoria Friendship House of Christian Service. The Peoria Riverfront Museum is serving as a drop off location throughout the campaign, and they will be offering a $2 discount off general admission to individuals who donate a non-perishable food item to Stuff-A-Bus on November 12 and November 26. CityLink recently welcomed Doug Roelfs to its management team as the Assistant General Manager of Operations. Roelfs joins the First Transit Inc. team that manages CityLink’s public transportation services for the greater Peoria area, including Peoria, West Peoria, Peoria Heights, East Peoria and Pekin.
CityLink Offers Free Rides for Veterans on November 11

CityLink will offer free rides to veterans on Friday, November 11 in honor of Veterans Day. Customers are asked to present valid veteran identification or a CityLink half-fare ID to the bus operator upon boarding the bus.
Since November 2012, CityLink has offered half-fares to veterans. CityLink encourages veterans to visit the Special Services office on the second level of the Transit Center to apply for a CityLink half-fare identification card.
Peoria Rivermen Hosting Stuff-A-Bus Night at the Game on November 4

The Peoria Rivermen are hosting Stuff-A-Bus night at their game against the Pensacola Ice Flyers on Friday, November 4 at the Peoria Civic Center. Fans can bring a donation of non-perishable food to the game and receive a ticket voucher for a future 2016-2017 Rivermen game. The vouchers will be handed out at the doors once the food donation has been collected. One ticket voucher will be handed out per total donation. The doors open at 6:00 p.m. and game time is 7:05 p.m.

CityLink to Extend Service on Knoxville North of Illinois Route 6 Starting September 6

Employees and customers of several businesses along Knoxville Avenue north of Illinois Route 6 will have the option of taking the bus for the first time on Tuesday, September 6. The businesses being served include McDonald’s, Walgreens, Huck’s and the future Schnucks location in Knoxville Crossing. The initial stop nearest the businesses will be at Crossing Drive and Knoxville and the service will operate as a partial weekday and full Saturday extension of the #4 Knoxville Route.
Four mid-day buses and an early evening return trip will be available Monday...
In observance of the Labor Day holiday, CityLink will not provide service on Monday, September 5. The CityLink Transit Center, located at 407 SW Adams, and the Administrative offices, located at 2105 NE Jefferson, will also be closed for the holiday.
On Sunday, September 4, the last lineup departs from the Transit Center at 7:30 p.m., and then all buses will return to the garage after reaching the end of the outbound route. The Transit Center lobby will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. The customer service windows will not be open.
