GPMTD Board of Trustees Approves Two-Year Contract with ATU #416

CityLink Route and Schedule Information is Now Available in Google Maps

CityLink route and schedule information is now live in Google Maps and available for the general public to use.  Simply provide the trip origin and destination in Google Maps and click or tap on the train icon.  Users are then provided the routes available from their point of origin to their destination, the estimated length of the trip, walking directions, fare information and schedule information.

CityLink Winter Holiday Hours of Operation

CityLink will not offer bus service on Christmas Day, Sunday, December 25, or New Year’s Day, Sunday, January 1.  On Saturday, December 24 and Saturday, December 31, the last line up will depart from the Transit Center at 8:45 p.m.  All buses will return to the garage after reaching the end of the outbound route.  The Transit Center Customer Service hours of operation on those days are 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

CityLink Unveils New Diesel-Electric Hybrid Bus

Members of the media had their first chance to see one of CityLink’s new diesel-electric hybrid buses during an unveiling on Wednesday, December 7 at 12:15 p.m. at CityLink’s facilities located at 2105 NE Jefferson Ave., Peoria.  Members of CityLink’s Board of Trustees and management team were on hand at the unveiling.

CityLink General Manager Al Stanek to Retire

CityLink General Manager Al Stanek, age 66, announced that he is retiring at the end of this year.  He has served as General Manager since February of 2015.  Stanek is a native of Wisconsin and plans to move back to Wisconsin permanently to spend more time with his family. 

CityLink to Unveil New Diesel-Electric Hybrid Bus to Media on December 7

CityLink plans to officially unveil one of its New Flyer Xcelsior® diesel-electric hybrid buses to the media for the first time on Wednesday, December 7 at 12:15 p.m. at the CityLink facilities located at 2105 NE Jefferson Ave. in Peoria.  The new buses have a completely different external and internal look than CityLink’s current fleet of buses.  Members of CityLink’s Board of Trustees and management team will be on hand at the press conference.

2017 Peoria Historical Calendar Features Local Parks and Recreation Areas

CityLink’s 2017 Peoria Historical Calendar is available.  This year, the calendar features photographs of local parks and recreation areas in Peoria.  The parks included in the calendar have been enjoyed by residents and visitors to the area for generations, and most continue to provide unique opportunities for nature lovers to enjoy the outdoors in Peoria.  The photographs for this year’s calendar were provided by the Peoria Historical Society, and the historical content for each page was provided by the Bradley University Special Collections Center and the Peoria Park District. ...

CityLink and Amalgamated Transit Union #416 Agree to Contract Extension

CityLink management and representatives from the Amalgamated Transit Union #416 have agreed on a contract extension. The extension will last until January 31, 2017. CityLink and the ATU #416 plan to continue contract negotiations until a permanent contract agreement can be reached.

29th Annual Stuff-A-Bus Food Drive Wraps Up with 8.62 Tons of Donations Collected

The 29th Annual Stuff-A-Bus Food Drive to benefit the Peoria Friendship House of Christian Service officially wrapped up on Tuesday, November 29.  The campaign began on October 28 and concluded with a press conference at the Peoria Friendship House of Christian Service to announce the total weight of the bus filled with the food collected during the campaign.  
The total weight of the food collected on the bus during the campaign was 15,060 pounds or 7.53 tons.  In addition, another 2187 pounds/dollars was donated directly to the Peoria Friendship House during...
