On Wednesday, October 17, Peorians will once again have the opportunity to lunch on southern comfort fare at the 3rd Annual Waffles and Wings luncheon. A longtime staple of the Deep South, this combination has become a trendy meal in larger cities in the north. Celebrities, including Gladys Knight, have made it a signature dish at their restaurants. The fundraiser supporting the 2012 Stuff-a-Bus food drive for Peoria Friendship house will take place at 11:30 am at Barrack’s Cater Inn, 1224 W. Pioneer Parkway, Peoria.

Citylink hosted a two-day planning workshop as part of the Accessible Transportation Coalitions Initiative (ATCI) offered by Easter Seals Project ACTION (ESPA). The Peoria area was among 10 communities from throughout the U.S. selected to participate in the initiative. Peoria was selected through a competitive application process in which a commitment to improving accessibility had to be expressed. The Greater Peoria Mass Transit District – CityLink – is the agency selected to lead the local efforts of the initiative.
