Members of the media had their first chance to see one of CityLink’s new diesel-electric hybrid buses during an unveiling on Wednesday, December 7 at 12:15 p.m. at CityLink’s facilities located at 2105 NE Jefferson Ave., Peoria. Members of CityLink’s Board of Trustees and management team were on hand at the unveiling.

CityLink General Manager Al Stanek, age 66, announced that he is retiring at the end of this year. He has served as General Manager since February of 2015. Stanek is a native of Wisconsin and plans to move back to Wisconsin permanently to spend more time with his family.

CityLink plans to officially unveil one of its New Flyer Xcelsior® diesel-electric hybrid buses to the media for the first time on Wednesday, December 7 at 12:15 p.m.at the CityLink facilities located at 2105 NE Jefferson Ave. in Peoria. The new buses have a completely different external and internal look than CityLink’s current fleet of buses. Members of CityLink’s Board of Trustees and management team will be on hand at the press conference.

CityLink’s 2017 Peoria Historical Calendar is available. This year, the calendar features photographs of local parks and recreation areas in Peoria. The parks included in the calendar have been enjoyed by residents and visitors to the area for generations, and most continue to provide unique opportunities for nature lovers to enjoy the outdoors in Peoria. The photographs for this year’s calendar were provided by the Peoria Historical Society, and the historical content for each page was provided by the Bradley University Special Collections Center and the Peoria Park District. ...
CityLink and Amalgamated Transit Union #416 Agree to Contract Extension

CityLink management and representatives from the Amalgamated Transit Union #416 have agreed on a contract extension. The extension will last until January 31, 2017. CityLink and the ATU #416 plan to continue contract negotiations until a permanent contract agreement can be reached.

The 29th Annual Stuff-A-Bus Food Drive to benefit the Peoria Friendship House of Christian Service officially wrapped up on Tuesday, November 29. The campaign began on October 28 and concluded with a press conference at the Peoria Friendship House of Christian Service to announce the total weight of the bus filled with the food collected during the campaign.

The 29th Annual Stuff-A-Bus food drive to benefit the Peoria Friendship House of Christian Service officially concludes with a press conference to announce the total weight of the food collected during the campaign on Tuesday, November 29 at 11:00 a.m. at the Peoria Friendship House of Christian Service. CityLink will not provide service on Thursday, November 24 in observance of the Thanksgiving holiday. The CityLink Transit Center, located at 407 SW Adams, and the Administrative offices, located at 2105 NE Jefferson, will also be closed for the holiday.
On Wednesday, November 23, the last lineup departs from the Transit Center at 8:45 p.m., and then all buses will return to the garage after reaching the end of the outbound route. The Transit Center Customer Service windows will be open from 6:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

On Friday, November 18, the third annual “Day of Stuffing” will be held at the Kroger located at 801 W. Lake Ave. in Peoria. Part of the Stuff-A-Bus food drive, this event is held to encourage donations for the 29th annual campaign that benefits the food pantry at the Peoria Friendship House of Christian Service.

The public can receive a complimentary 2017 Peoria Historical Calendar in exchange for a non-perishable food donation to the Stuff-A-Bus food drive at the CityLink Transit Center, located at 407 SW Adams Street, on Wednesday, November 16. Representatives from CityLink will be in the Transit Center lobby from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. that day; however, individuals may still receive a calendar in exchange for a donation at the Customer Service windows until the windows close at 8:00 p.m.
