CityLink to Remove Temporary Stop on #4 Knoxville Route on Mar. 6

The temporary bus stop located at Knoxville and Crossing Drive near McDonald’s, Walgreens, Huck’s and the Schnucks in Knoxville Crossing will be removed and no longer available after March 6, 2017.
The temporary stop at Crossing Drive and Knoxville was implemented on September 6, 2016, with the service operating as a partial weekday and full Saturday extension of the #4 Knoxville Route. CityLink Hosting Black History Month Program at Transit Center on Feb. 16

CityLink will host a program to celebrate Black History Month at the Transit Center (407 SW Adams, Peoria) on Thursday, February 16 starting at 10:00 a.m. The program will include choir performances by 3rd grade students from Christ Lutheran School and skit and choir performances by Peoria High School students. Guest speaker for the program is Chris Reynolds, Athletic Director at Bradley University. The program is expected to last approximately one hour.

Doug Roelfs has been named the new General Manager of Greater Peoria Mass Transit District (CityLink), effective February 1, 2017. CityLink Route and Schedule Information is Now Available in Google Maps

CityLink route and schedule information is now live in Google Maps and available for the general public to use. Simply provide the trip origin and destination in Google Maps and click or tap on the train icon. Users are then provided the routes available from their point of origin to their destination, the estimated length of the trip, walking directions, fare information and schedule information.

CityLink will not offer bus service on Christmas Day, Sunday, December 25, or New Year’s Day, Sunday, January 1. On Saturday, December 24 and Saturday, December 31, the last line up will depart from the Transit Center at 8:45 p.m. All buses will return to the garage after reaching the end of the outbound route. CityLink General Manager Al Stanek, age 66, announced that he is retiring at the end of this year. He has served as General Manager since February of 2015. Stanek is a native of Wisconsin and plans to move back to Wisconsin permanently to spend more time with his family.

CityLink plans to officially unveil one of its New Flyer Xcelsior® diesel-electric hybrid buses to the media for the first time on Wednesday, December 7 at 12:15 p.m.at the CityLink facilities located at 2105 NE Jefferson Ave. in Peoria. The new buses have a completely different external and internal look than CityLink’s current fleet of buses.
