No CityLink Service on September 4 in Observance of Labor Day

In observance of the Labor Day holiday, CityLink will not provide service on Monday, September 4.  The CityLink Transit Center, located at 407 SW Adams, and the Administrative offices, located at 2105 NE Jefferson, will both be closed for the holiday.
 
On Sunday, September 3, the last lineup departs from the Transit Center at 7:30 p.m., and then all buses will return to the garage after reaching the end of the outbound route.  The Transit Center lobby will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and the customer service windows will be open from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m...

CityLink Once Again Partnering with Smith Career Center at Bradley University for Snapchat Contest

CityLink is once again partnering with the Smith Career Center at Bradley University for a contest on the social media platform Snapchat called “BU on the Bus” from August 19 until September 9.
 
Students are invited to participate in the contest by posting creative videos and/or pictures while taking a CityLink bus or at the downtown CityLink Transit Center (407 SW Adams St.) to their Snapchat story.  Contest entries should be downloaded and emailed to Smith Career Center Graduate Assistant Hannah Ramlo at hramlo@mail....

CityLink Bus Passes Offer Affordable Transportation Options for Local College Students

Back-To-School time has arrived and Peoria area colleges and universities will begin the fall semester in a matter of weeks.  Most college students are trying to find ways to save money, and using CityLink is one way students can go green while saving some green.

GPMTD Receives First Wave of New Paratransit (CityLift) Vehicles

The Greater Peoria Mass Transit District (GPMTD) recently received the first set of five of its new paratransit (CityLift) vehicles. The initial vehicles received are Ford E450 Body-on-Chassis with a Champion Challenger body.  They were manufactured by Champion in Imlay City, Michigan and brokered by Central States Bus Sales, Inc. in Fenton, MO.

CityLink 4th of July Hours of Operation and Park and Ride Shuttle Information

In honor of the Independence Day holiday, CityLink will not offer service on Tuesday, July 4.  On July 3, the last line-up will depart from the Transit Center at 8:45 p.m.  All buses will return to the garage after reaching the end of the outbound route.  The CityLink Administrative offices will be closed on July 4, and will reopen on Wednesday, July 5. The Transit Center lobby will also be closed on July 4.  Regular service resumes and the Transit Center lobby and CityLink Administrative offices will be open on July 5.

CityLink Receives Two Additional Diesel-Electric Hybrid Buses

CityLink recently received two additional 40’ New Flyer Xcelsior® diesel-electric hybrid buses.  The new buses are identical to the hybrid buses CityLink received in late 2016.  Manufacturing of the new buses began in Winnipeg, Manitoba and they were completed in St. Cloud, Minnesota.  The buses were purchased with the assistance of an Illinois Department of Transportation (IDOT) Capital Grant, Federal Transit Administration (FTA) Clean Fuels Program (5308) and FTA Urbanized Area Formula Grant (5307).

CityLink to Participate in 12th Annual Dump the Pump Day on June 15

CityLink will participate in the 12th Annual Dump the Pump Day on Thursday, June 15.  This is a national event recognized by the American Public Transportation Association (APTA), and it is celebrated by transit agencies across the United States.  According to the APTA June Transit Savings Report, the annual savings is $9,797 for a person who switches his or her daily commute by car to taking public transportation.  Individuals who ride public transportation instead of driving can save, on average, more than $816 per month.  In 2016, Americans took 10.4 billion trips on public

No CityLink Service on May 29 in Observance of Memorial Day

In observance of the Memorial Day holiday, CityLink will not provide service on Monday, May 29, 2017.  
 
The CityLink Transit Center, located at 407 SW Adams, and the Administrative offices, located at 2105 NE Jefferson, will also be closed for the holiday.  On Sunday, May 28, the Transit Center lobby will be open from 8:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m. and the customer service windows will be open from 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m.
 
Full service resumes on Tuesday, May 30, 2017.

CityLink to Provide Free Shuttle Service for Race for the Cure Participants on May 13

CityLink is making transportation convenient for participants of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure on Saturday, May 13, 2017 by providing a free shuttle.  Participants of the event should arrive early for a Park and Ride Shuttle at either Northwoods Mall (JC Penney entrance on the Sterling side), or Evergreen Square (LensCrafters).  The shuttles begin transporting passengers to the Race for the Cure at 6:15 a.m. and will continue until 7:15 a.m.  Buses will return passengers back to the Park and Ride locations immediately following the event once the streets reopen.
